Scholarship

	CITI BCS National Championship Game - Alabama vs Texas 7th Jan - Doors OPEN 11pm Kick-off at 1am (8 Jan)
They're two of the most tradition-rich and storied programs in college football, and they'll be meeting for the first time in nearly 30 years when Alabama and Texas clash in the BCS National Championship Game. It's also the first time since the 2005 classic between Texas and Southern California that two unbeaten teams have met for the BCS national title.

The Game will be shown EXCLUSIVELY for the UK Texas Exes LIVE at Bodean's Tower Hill!

LOCATION: Bodean's TOWER HILL

16 Byward Street London EC3R 5BA

DATE: Thurs 7 Jan

TIME: doors open from 11.00pm

kickoff at 1.00am (Fri 8 Jan)

COST: £20 per person

Your entry fee includes nachos supreme served shortly before kickoff and a breakfast buffet served at half-time which includes sausages, eggs (fried and scrambled), bacon, baked beans, fried potatoes, grated cheese, tortillas, floured baps and toast. The kitchen will not be available for other orders.

Drink and beer specials available throughout the night, with alcohol served until 5.00am. Everyone can stay until roughly one hour after the game has ended.

RSVP to Bodean's Westbourne at 0207 727 9503 to pay in advance and reserve your spot! Bodean's will provide you with an email confirmation which will serve as your ticket for entry, which MUST be shown at the door - NO EXCEPTIONS! Payment will also be accepted at the door (TOWER HILL location) on game night.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: the event is at TOWER HILL, but RSVP's are going to WESTBOURNE. REPEAT - the LIVE GAME is at TOWER HILL.

Doors will be open from 11pm that night with the 2005 National Championship Game on display, so COME EARLY, BE LOUD AND WEAR ORANGE!

*** the game is in Pasadena, CA and kick-off is Thursday, 7 Jan at 5pm which is 1am on Friday local time.

8th Annual UKTE Softball Tournament
Saturday, 22nd August

Thank you to all the players and spectators that came out to the tournament! It was attended by over 60 people and we all enjoyed a fantastic day out. We also raised money for our Scholarship Fund too. Hook 'em!

9th Annual UKTE Pub Crawl
Saturday, 13th June

Thank you to those that joined us for our 9th Annual Pub Crawl in and around Notting Hill.

We certainly did our part to get the economy going again and managed to raise £395 for our scholarship fund! Hook 'em!

Scholarship Update: James thanks UKTE

Our 2007 scholarship UKTE scholarship winner James Wakefield took time out from his first semester's studies and activities to write and thank UKTE for his scholarship award:

"I am writing to offer my sincere thanks for selecting me to receive the Texas Exes Scholarship for the United Kingdom Chapter. I am truly honoured to receive this scholarship and I am determined to justify your choice by fully embracing university life in Austin and striving for academic excellence."

James, pictured here at the Scholarship Awards Dinner, went to school in Hampton, Middlesex, UK and is majoring in History at UT. His $1000 award raised was from donations at UKTE events.

Play Flag Football

Every Saturday at 12noon in Hyde Park

We play for about 2 hours at noonish almost every Saturday, rain, shine, and ESPECIALLY MUD! We get about 8-16 guys out and there's always post-game "analysis" at the pub following the carnage. Map to GS Field

	Thanksgiving Dinner Here are the photos from our annual family event, when we join up with other alumni groups in London to celebrate Thanksgiving with a traditional turkey dinner and all the trimmings. Here are the photos
	Halloween Party Many thanks for making the Halloween Party our biggest and best ever! We had about 200 people, some great costumes and we raised a massive £1150 for the UKTE Scholarship. Check out all the pics here
	5th Annual UKTE Softball Classic Congratulations to the Rest-of-the-World team from Texas Tech, TCU, Rice, Michigan, Virginia, Nebraska and others, captained by Sean Seton-Rogers, who triumphed after coming from behind in the bottom of the final innings in the championship game to snatch victory from the University of Texas team. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it our biggest and best Softball tournament ever. Photos
	UKTE Dublin trip We partied it up in various Dublin bars, learnt about Guinness, got confused by hurling and generally had a good time. Check out the photos of the trip here.
	The Sixth Annual UKTE Pub Crawl This years pub crawl was our biggest ever - thanks to everyone who came along and showed their support, particularly the Boston College contingent. Along with having a great time, drinking too much and shouting at referees, we raised £176 towards the UKTE scholarship fund. Here are all the photos
